Open Range Day Close Quarters Tactics Class

This is the monthly 4-hour Open Range Day training event. This class will focus on close quarters tactics in the home, workplace and urban environment. The course will teach the principles of close confined space defensive skills, room entry skills, room clearing, room search, target identification, situation assessment and shoot don't shoot scenarios with force on force drills.

Attendees need a semi-automatic handgun, holster designed for that weapon, 3 magazines, magazine pouch, belt, associated gear, eye and ear protection and 200 rounds of ammunition. Group I will begin in the non-ballistic training building while Group II is conducting live fire training to support unconventional poistional shooting, shooting behind cover and from doorways. The groups will rotate and repeat the training blocks.

Students need a light source consisting of a handheld light, rail mounted light or preferably both. Please bring an external light source, head lamp or table top light for your work area and post training wrap up.

Attendees need a semi-automatic handgun, quality IWB, AIWB or OWB holster designed for that weapon, 3 magazines, double magazine pouch, belt, associated gear, back up batteries for the handheld light and rail mounted light, eye and ear protection and 250 rounds ammo. We will be shooting steel so you MUST have side shields on your eye protection. It is recommended you bring clear eye protection for the night shoot.

Participation in training requires exercises and tests of physical agility, physical excursion, rapid heart rate, unconventional shooting positions in which the attendee assumes full responsibility for his/her own safety and improper weapons handling skills.

All attendees MUST acknowledge the Release of Liability Waiver and Safety Brief prior to registering and paying.
