About the Event
The Handgun Standards and Fundamentals Course is the foundational block of training focusing on building handgun skills and proficiency. This is the level I proficiency course required to attend future intermediate and advanced handgun courses. Successful completion with an 80% proficiency rate authorizes students to attend next level courses and Ladies Open Range Day courses.
The course will cover:
- Safety and Confidence
- Weapons nomenclature
- Weapons disassembly and assembly
- Weapons cleaning and maintenance
- Equipment setup
- Theory of Brain Based Shooting
- 8 Fundamentals of Shooting
- Breakdown of the draw stroke and presentation of the weapon
- Speed and efficiency
- Accuracy and Consistency
- Individual Performance Assessment Let's train as a group and inspire better performance through collaboration and individual assessment.
- Reloading the weapon
- Clearing Malfunctions
- Students will receive one on one instructor to student assessment and video diagnostics.
Attendees are required to bring a:
- Semi-automatic handgun
- 350 rounds of ammunition
- Holster designed for that handgun (No universal nylon holsters. Holster must be quality molded Kydex holster in either an inside the waistband/IWB concealed or outside the waistband/OWB concealed holster. affixed in an outside the waistband or appendix setup)
- Three magazines
- Double magazine pouch
- Belt to support the holster
- Eye Protection with side shields
- Hearing protection
- Closed toed footwear
- Appropriate clothing for the weather
- Sunblock is recommended
- Headgear is recommended
- Chair
- Water / Fluids
- Lunch and a snack if needed.
Course Fee is $350.00 (No refunds or credits will be granted for missed classes unless a 72-hour notification is provided)
